Shopify & Shopify Plus

Shopify developers for stores that need more than a theme.

Custom Shopify and Shopify Plus development, support and integrations from a senior team, for brands that have outgrown what comes out of the box.

“Resolve Beyond's ability to take over our previously developed website and provide immediate support was truly impressive.”
Tadas Rimkus, Drummonds

Beyond out of the box

When an app isn't the answer, custom Shopify is.

Shopify is a brilliant platform. It handles hosting, security and the core of selling online, which is why so many retailers choose it. The trouble starts when your business needs something the theme and app store don’t quite do: trade pricing, a quote-led sales process, multiple markets or a product that needs configuring.

The usual answer is another app. Each one adds a monthly fee, more scripts on every page and another thing that can clash at checkout. Before long the store is slow, fragile and hard to change.

Our Shopify developers, part of a team of fifteen led by senior developers in Hartlepool, build what you need as custom code instead, using Shopify’s own extensibility, so you own it and it doesn’t slow you down. Where an existing app genuinely does the job well, we’ll say so. Every custom build is scoped and priced up front, then tested before it goes live.

What we do on Shopify

Custom Shopify development, support and integration.

Most agencies only do Shopify out of the box. We go further, with custom code built properly and supported by the team who wrote it.

Support

Fixes at the root.

App conflicts, broken checkouts, failing payments and slow pages diagnosed properly, tested on staging and released with a rollback path.

Custom Shopify

Built for your store.

Private apps, custom Liquid themes, checkout UI extensions, metafield and metaobject logic, configurators, bundles and quote flows.

Integrations

Everything connected.

ERP, 3PL, CRM, payments and analytics, from Epicor and NetSuite to HubSpot, Klaviyo and GA4.

Custom Shopify apps and plugins

When an off-the-shelf app won't do, we build the one you need.

Most Shopify stores are held together by a stack of third-party apps that slow pages down, clash with each other and never quite fit. We build custom Shopify apps and extensions around how your business actually sells.

  • Custom and private appsFunctionality built for your store alone, owned by you, without monthly app fees or features you'll never use.
  • Checkout and theme extensionsCheckout UI extensions, Shopify Functions for custom discounts and logic, and theme app blocks your team can manage.
  • Quote, configurator and B2B flowsRequest a quote, product customisation, bundles and trade pricing, built into the store rather than bolted on.
  • IntegrationsYour ERP, CRM, 3PL and marketing tools connected properly, from HubSpot and Klaviyo to Epicor.
  • Replacing app clutterWe audit the apps you rely on and replace the slow or conflicting ones with lean custom code.

Case study · Drummonds

A luxury brand that outgrew out-of-the-box Shopify.

Drummonds, the luxury bathroom brand with showrooms in London and New York, sells through a quote-led process, so the store had to be built around it. We built a custom Shopify store with a Request a Quote flow, product customisations, market-specific navigation, currencies and location handling for the UK and US, and HubSpot CRM integrated with the customer journey.

Shopify Plus agency

Shopify Plus, used to its full potential.

Shopify Plus unlocks a lot more than standard Shopify. We help you put it to work.

Checkout extensibility

Checkout UI extensions and post-purchase flows built on Shopify's extensibility APIs, and Shopify Functions for custom discounts and logic.

B2B and wholesale

Pricing tiers, trade portals, quote flows and volume discounts for businesses that sell to other businesses.

Multi-store and markets

Multiple markets, currencies and stores, with navigation and location handling for each.

Headless and automation

Storefront API and Hydrogen builds, and Shopify Flow to automate the jobs your team does by hand.

Case study · Drummonds

From a slow WordPress site to a custom Shopify store for the UK and US.

Drummonds is a luxury bathroom brand with showrooms in London and New York. We took over their WordPress site and gave them immediate support. But the site stayed slow, and compressing their photography would have weakened the brand. The honest answer was a new platform.

  1. Shopify agreed as the direction after reviewing the limits of the WordPress site.

  2. Theme foundations, core templates, navigation and product structure set up, with the differences between the UK and US mapped.

  3. Main page types built, with currencies and markets configured around their quote-led sales process.

  4. Core redevelopment complete and ready for detailed review, while we kept the live WordPress site supported.

  5. Launched, with checks across key journeys and post-launch observations handled.

“Their expertise in integrating HubSpot CRM was a game-changer for us… we're extremely satisfied with their ongoing support.”
Tadas Rimkus Marketing Manager, Drummonds

Questions

Shopify development FAQs

Can you support a Shopify store another agency built?

Yes. Most stores come to us with little or no handover. Onboarding usually takes a few days, and we never work on your live store until it’s in place.

An app update has broken our checkout. Can you help?

Yes, and we treat it as a P1 critical issue. We find the conflict, whether that’s script load order, a checkout extension clash or a theme override, and fix it on staging before it goes live. If you’re not yet a client, report a critical issue or call 01429 555088.

Can you speed up our Shopify store without a redesign?

Usually, yes. Slow Shopify stores tend to come down to third-party apps, heavy images, bloated theme code and tracking scripts. We audit what’s loading, defer what can wait and tidy the Liquid, without starting again.

How much does Shopify support cost?

Shopify sits in our Standard band, with monthly plans from £400 to £6,400 a month ex VAT, or a 5-hour pack at £400 if you only need occasional help. See pricing.
